Two of my three daughters are alive today due to those who work at Children’s Hospital in Denver.  The doctored or nurse is quarrying raw material from a disintegrating maple plinth in order to build a path to health for a young child. My youngest daughter was given a teddy bear right before her five hour open heart surgery. His name is Duncan and he still gives her comfort. so I had to include him.  This sculpture is a very grateful nod to all those who give us second chances with our loved ones.
