A Bird in the Hand
Bronze, Maple, and Walnut 19” Tall 12” Wide 12” Deep

This sculpture a sort of self portrait. In my earlier years I became discouraged due to a lack of successes with my art. I soon realized that the only way to elevate my artwork was to constantly create work regardless of whether I would cast them or destroy them to start the next piece. The blindfold represents the my early ignorance of the solution lying quite literally in my hands. The owl represents the knowledge that I can create beauty and continuing to do so is the means and end.
